Rolling with the ESN gardening theme this week I want to highlight this cool gardening book I found called Joey Green’s Gardening Magic Gardening Solutions
It reminds me of an infomercial on TV because it has over 1,120 garden solutions using brand name products. Like who knew you could fertilize your yard with Maxwell House coffee? This one I’m gonna try out this year: control Japanese beetles with Wesson Corn Oil. The book is full of stuff like this.
This cheery Tea Light Candle Holder is so pretty when lit. The glow from the candle peeks through the Spring daffodils and busy butterflies.
Colors include a Williamsburg style Red, green, golden yellow, orange, and white. The checkered border give it a lovely country feel. Inside there is a brass taper candle holder.
It comes in two pieces: The BASE is 2 inches high x 4.5 inches wide; tapers down to 3.5 inches wide. The TOP COVER is 4 inches high x 4.5 inches at widest point.
It took almost 2 years but we finally had our yard sale in the middle of April. I can now say that the car is back in the garage! That’s a BIG woohoo!
We live in an area that really doesn’t get much traffic and we were greatly surprised to see that Hubster’s little red signs he’d put out actually worked pretty well. I think a combination of that and having it on both a Friday and Saturday led to great success.
We still had a ton of stuff left over. So what did we do? Without realizing it, when we picked out time-frame we hadn’t realized that the local church was going to have a yard sale the following weekend. So we packed up some choice goodies and did it all over again.
We made an extra $100 through that effort and helped the Relay for Life team at the same time…success! When we repacked our remaining leftovers we sorted them into boxes – keep, trash, & thrift store. I must say it worked like a charm.
A couple of big items like the 55gal. fish tank were sold thru Criagslist when I found a posted ad where someone wanted a tank. The rest may go back into a Fall sale later on. After it was all said and done, it was hard work, but it was a lot of fun too. I think if we remember that fun part we might take another shot at it. At least in the Fall it won’t be hot!
